West Palm Beach criminal defense attorney Kelly V. Landers recalls events of significance that occurred this week in history:
On September 5, 1774, the First Continental Congress convened in Philadelphia.
On September 8, 1974, President Gerald R. Ford pardoned former President Richard Nixon for “crimes committed” while in office.
On September 11, 2001, hijacked airliners crashed into the World Trade Center, destroying it; a third struck the Pentagon, and a fourth crashed in Pennsylvania, in a coordinated terrorist attack killed over 3,000.
