On June 29, 2007, Apple released the first iPhone in the U.S.
On July 1, 1863, the Battle of Gettysburg began.
On July 2, 1937, pilot Amelia Earhart and navigator Fred Noonan, attempted the first equatorial round the world flight, disappeared over the Pacific Ocean.
On July 2, 1962, Sam Walton opened the first Wal-Mart Discount City store in Rogers, Arkansas.
