West Palm Beach criminal defense attorney Kelly V. Landers recalls events of significance that occurred this week in history.

On April 17, 1961, CIA-trained Cuban exiles launched the Bay of Pigs invasion to overthrow Fidel Castro.  It ended in failure.

On April 19, 1993, a 51-day standoff at the Branch Davidian ranch in Waco, Texas, ended when federal agents stormed the compound.

On April 19, 1995, a truck bomb exploded outside the Federal Building in Oklahoma City, killing 168.

On April 20, 1999, two students embarked on a shooting spree at Columbine High School in Colorado, killing 12 students and a teacher.
