On June 2, 1692, the Salem Witch Trials began with the trial of Bridget Bishop, who was convicted and hanged.
On June 3, 1880, Alexander Graham Bell made the first transmission on his wireless photophone, which sent audio on beams of light.
On June 4, 1989, the Chinese Army violently ended protests at Tiananmen Square in Beijing.
On June 6, 1944 D-Day: the Allied invasion of Europe began with the landings at Normandy in France.
On June 7, 1892, Homer Plessy was arrested for refusing to move from a whites-only seat on a train, leading to the Plessy v. Ferguson “separate but equal” ruling.
