West Palm Beach criminal defense attorney Kelly V. Landers recalls events of significance that occurred this week in history.

On December 15, 1791, the first 10 Amendments, the Bill of Rights, were ratified.

On December 16, 1773, the Boston Tea Party.  Members of the Sons of Liberty, thinly disguised as Indians, dumped 45 tons of tea into the Boston Harbor in an anti-British protest.

On December 16, 1969, Capital Punishment for murder was permanently abolished in Great Britain.

On December 19, 1776, Thomas Paine published The American Crisis.

On December 19, 1988, the U.S. House of Representatives impeached President Bill Clinton on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. (He was later acquitted.)

Have a great week!
