On July 24, 1969, the Apollo 11 lunar mission ended with the capsule splashing down in the Pacific Ocean.
On July 24, 1974, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in U.S. v. Nixon, S.Ct. No. 73-1766, the President must comply with a grand jury subpoena.
On July 27, 1996, a bomb exploded in Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, Georgia, during the 1996 Summer Olympics, killing two and injuring many more.
On July 30, 1975, former teamsters leader Jimmy Hoffa disappeared near Detroit. His body has never been found.
