On June 29, 2007, Apple released it’s first iPhone in the U.S. This week, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in U.S. v. Wurie that a person has an expectation of privacy in the contents of their phone, and it cannot be searched without a search warrant.
On June 29, the Florida Supreme Court reversed the conviction and death sentence of Mr. Paul Hildwin. He had been on Death Row for 28 years. Based upon DNA on a rag at the scene, he was excluded as the person responsible and is likely to be exonerated. If so, he would be the 25th Florida-capital inmate released from Death Row since the 1970’s, according to the Death Penalty Information Center.
On July 1, 1863, The Battle of Gettysburg began.
