West Palm Beach criminal defense attorney Kelly V. Landers recalls events of significance that occurred this week during past years. How many do you remember?

On November 10, 1919 Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes issued his famous pro 1st Amendment dissent in Abrams v. U.S., which upheld convictions of anti-war activists.

On November 10, 1951 Coast to Coast direct-dial telephone service began in the United States.

On November 11 Happy Veterans Day!  Armistice Day was originally set as a US legal holiday to honor the end of World War I (aka The Great War), which officially took place November 11, 1918.  On June 1, 1954, Nov. 11 became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.

On November 12, 1908 Justice Harry Blackmun, Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court was born.

On November 15, 1777 the Articles of Confederation were adopted.
