WEST PALM BEACH, Florida – March 11, 2018

The Board of Directors of CARP (Comprehensive Alcoholism Rehabilitation Programs), Inc. and the CARP Spring Luncheon Committee welcomed three hundred guests to its Annual Spring Luncheon at Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach Saturday to celebrate the renewal of CARP. Funds raised totaled $500,000.

Following a reception in the Living Room, where new supporters of CARP mingled with current board members and long-term CARP advocates, guests moved upstairs to the Royal Poinciana Ballroom at noon for the luncheon and live auction and were welcomed by Chairwomen Mo Maynor and Lauren Arpel.

Board member Park Miller led the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance, and shared his support for CARP’s mission, followed by an Invocation led by Bishop Harold Calvin Ray. Kelly V. Landers, President of the Board of Directors, stated that “CARP is returning to its beginning, serving the alcoholic and drug addicted underserved, with the initial projects of the men and women’s 12-step homes. We ask all who have supported CARP in the past, and all who wish to do so in the future, to join us!” Construction began on the women’s home in February, and the men’s home is expected to follow soon.

Chairwoman Mo Maynor offered a heartfelt introduction to the guest speaker, Mark Lundholm — who moved the audience to laughter and tears as he shared his personal experiences with addiction, transformation, and Twelve Step Recovery. The live auction, emceed with aplomb by Jonathan Duerr, was a highlight for many guests, including the winning bidders.

Live auction donors included:

Dr. Fredric Barr, M.D. (Member, CARP Board of Directors), BallenIsles Country Club, Bill DeMott and Mo Maynor, Kevin Durant, Eastpointe Country Club, The Country Club at Mirasol, Park Miller and Patty Dean, Old Palm Golf Club, Guanabanas Restaurant, The Preserve at Iron Horse, Frenchman’s Creek,  and Tiffany & Co.

In attendance were Honorary Chairwoman Connie M. Frankino; Chairpersons Bill DeMott and Mo Maynor; Co-Chairwoman Lauren Arpel; Dave Aronberg, State Attorney for Palm Beach County; Deputy Chief Mike Gauger; Sarah Willis, Candidate for Circuit Court Judge; Jonathan Duerr, live auction emcee; Jeff Sabean and Janice Palmer of Tiffany & Co.; and, Ainsley Charles and Ellen Fletcher of Neiman Marcus.

The Board of Directors of CARP is thankful for support from corporate sponsors including Tiffany & Co, Neiman Marcus, Rocco’s Tacos, Chromatix, Palm Beach Kennel Club, Clearbrook Foundation, Eretzor Consruction, Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches, and Redemptive Life Fellowship. Grand Sponsors include Connie M. Frankino, Bill DeMott and Mo Maynor, and an anonymous donor.

Contributions will support the development and operation of CARP men’s and women’s residences. CARP’s vision includes gender-specific 12 Step Homes for men and women that support supervised, abstinence-based recovery and offer hope to Palm Beach County’s vulnerable.
