On July 14, 1881, Sheriff Pat Garrett killed William Bonney (“Billy the Kid”) in Fort Sumner, New Mexico.
On July 15, 1997, Fashion designer Gianni Versace was shot and killed outside his South Beach home by serial killer Andrew Cunanan.
On July 18, 1969, Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy drove his car off a bridge on Chappaquiddick Island. His passenger, Mary Jo Koepechne, died in the accident.
