This Week in History – Lincoln Delivered the Gettysburg Address

West Palm Beach criminal defense attorney Kelly V. Landers recalls events of significance that occurred this week in history.

On November 18, 1978, more than 900 residents at the Jonestown Peoples Temple compound in Guyana died after cult leader Jim Jones urged them to commit suicide.

On November 19, 1863, U.S. President Abraham Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address, at the site of the Civil War Battle of Gettysburg.

On November 19, 1969, Apollo 12, the second manned Lunar mission, landed on the Moon.

On November 20, 1945, twenty Nazi leaders went on trial for war crimes in Nuremberg, Germany.

On November 21, 1920, Bloody Sunday, 31 people were killed in Dublin during the Irish War of Independence.
