On September 25, 1789 Congress approved the Bill of Rights, sending it to the states for ratification.
On September 25, 1957, Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division enforce integration at Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, allowing nine black students to enter the school.
On September 26, 1789 John Jay was appointed the first Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.
On September 26, 1960 US presidential candidates John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon faced off in the first televised presidential debate.
On September 27, 1964 the Warren Commission released its report, concluding that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone assassinating US President John F. Kennedy.
